An exciting product for crop protection!
Rejex-it® Migrate™ for Agriculture makes treated grapes, cherries, and blueberries unpalatable to birds (all birds including Turkeys). It works as a sensory repellent and irritates the mouth and stomach of birds who try to ingest the treated berries, without causing adverse physiological reactions in the birds. Rejex-it® Migrate™ for Agriculture works because it affects the behavior while causing no actual harm to the bird. As a result, birds will avoid feeding in places where Rejex-it is present, diverting them to other feeding areas. So far, no bird species has been found, that is not affected by the Rejex-it® bird repellent.
Rejex-it® Migrate™ for Agriculture has been formulated from food grade ingredients with an active ingredient, methyl anthanilate, that meets US Food Chemical Codex (FCC) specifications (though this product is considered a synthetic organic and is not OMRI listed for approved organic applications). This additive is the same flavoring used in our foods and drinks to get grape flavoring. Rejex-it® Migrate™ for Agriculture is an aqueous slurry of micro-encapsulated product that is miscible with water in any ratio. Be sure to spray the fruit as spraying the leaves won't help.
Does it change the taste of the fruit? While the label states application up to the day of harvest, for cherries and grapes it is advised to limit the application to 3 days before harvest to eliminate any grape-like taste on your fruit. If the grapes are used for wine-making, you might want to spray only up to 5 days to harvest (7 days for white grapes). Blueberries are not as sensitive to taste contamination and application up to harvest has no impact on taste. Reapply within 7 days as needed. Do not spray during rain or immediately before expected rain. Do not apply in freezing conditions. Apply either in morning after dew has disappeared or in the evening. The product is formulated with a polymeric sticker that will protect it from the occasional normal rain after it has dried on the berries. If there is excessive continuous rain for several days, additional applications may be needed, or Nu-Film 17 (see link below) can be added. This will extend the efficacy to 3-4 weeks and give good protection against repeated rainfall.

click hereThis product has been around for 15+ years and is highly effective when used as instructed. If the birds have no other food source or the application is made too late and the birds have established the crop as a food source, it can be difficult to move them. So for best results, apply just before the point birds take to the crop or at the latest when you first see damage, to not allow the birds to become emotionally attached to the crop.
