Our painted earth anchors are made of high quality steel with a center or offset eye and helix plate. Many other sizes and configurations are available (as well as galvanized). Call for discounts in pallet quantities of 300-500. Weights: 15" 1.3lbs., 30" 2.4lbs., 40" 5.3lbs., 48" 8lbs.
For Manual Installation: Earth anchors are installed at a slant, inline with the attached wire and perpendicular to the end post. This way the helix plate can catch. If it is too difficult to turn the anchor into the ground, a hole is dug to a depth of approximately 1⁄2 the length of the anchor. Then turn the anchor into the ground by hand, using a rod, crow bar, or length of pipe for leverage. After the earth anchor is installed full depth, earth is repacked, six inches at a time.

Note on Earth Anchor Sizes:
15" x 1/2" rod, 3" helix - not recommended for vineyard trellis systems.
30" x 1/2" rod, 4" helix - recommended for trellis systems less than 150'
40" x 5/8" rod, 6" helix - recommended for trellis systems less than 300'
48" x 3/4" rod, 6" helix - recommended for trellis systems more than 300' but not more than 600'
Here is a diagram to show the proper installation of the anchor. It should be at an angle to the end post (perpendicular to the force pulling it) and inline with the support wire.
